Following the successful Icelandic aluminium delegation visit to Québec in September 2025, we are pleased to confirm that a Canadian delegation will visit Iceland in spring 2026 to continue and strengthen the collaboration between our aluminium clusters.
The upcoming visit will bring together Canadian companies and research institutions to explore opportunities for cooperation in innovation, sustainability, and technology development within the aluminium industry, continuing the productive exchange that began in Canada this year.
The September visit offered in-depth exposure to operations at Rio Tinto Alma and Alcoa Deschambault, research activity at Arvida R&D Centre and Centre des technologies de l’aluminium (part of the National Research Council Canada), and meetings with specialist manufacturers, providing a comprehensive look into Canada’s advanced aluminium production, R&D and precision-manufacturing ecosystem. The experience highlighted the great potential for future collaboration between Icelandic and Canadian partners.
